Danny Haynes has signed his first professional contract that will see him stay a Town player until the summer of 2008.

The 17-year-old striker, who has forced his way into the first-team at Portman Road over the past month, signed his contract this morning 18 months after being released as an apprentice at Charlton.

"It's the best Christmas present I've ever had, being offered a contract at Ipswich," Danny told the Club website.

"I can't believe how things have changed around for me since I left Charlton.

"It's all happened so fast. I know injuries have opened the door for me here this season but it's up to me to take my chance now and I'm determined to do so."
