I just wish someone had taken my bet on Town being champions now.

I see Leicester City have gone down the Interim Manager route too and appointed Dean Smith until the end of the season. Makes sense to me and at least gives them leadership and direction.

The fact they were considering Jesse Marsch leads me to believe they're drawing at straws. Sure Dean Smith makes sense, but will he be able to keep them up? Leicester were actually playing some good football under BR...just goes to show it's a results business no matter who the manager is.Charnwood wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 2:40 pmnumber 9 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 1:03 amG Potter will be Leicester new bossmendipblue wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 12:46 am

If it goes to the wire there are three interesting fixtures on the final day !
Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest
Everton v Bournemouth
Leicester City v West Ham
…. any of those clubs to be playing to saved themselves from relegation.

Our Frank masterminded another great result last night, I'm sure the Chelsea fans that pay 1k plus for their season tickets are loving him being back.

Apologies Ricco I’ve only just seen this but happy to take the bet if it’s still available. Town are pretty much certs for promotion and City have gone out to 6/4 with Southampton, Everton, Forest and Leeds in front of them. Let me know what you think. If Leicester go down and I win my tenner goes to the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich, if you win either you or Marko can choose I’m easy either way.Ricco wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 2:26 pmOdds with skybet for that double is currently 23/25 Charny. 8/11 Leicester for the drop, 1/9 Town for promotion.
I don't mind giving you evens and playing bookie though. If the bet lands, I'll give £10 to a charity of your choice and if it doesn't, you can give £10 to a charity of Marko's choice?? I think that circumnavigates the legalities of playing bookmaker?!

I’m not sure what Frank has to do with this Mike but for what it’s worth the fans love having him back because they know it’s only temporary and it got them rid of Harry Potter who they detested..
Their season was over long before Frankie Boy arrived for a few weeks. I’m not sure about last night as I didn’t watch it but every home game since he stepped in the fans have displayed huge banners supporting Lampard who they idolise and see as “One if their own”
The man they detest even more than Man United fans hate the Glazers is their new owner Todd Boehly and it’s him alone who all their anger is vented against. At the moment Chelsea FC is a mess and I can’t see how it’s going to get sorted.

Blimey Mike, if you take the views of idiots on Facebook we’d have sacked McKenna only a few weeks back and many times before.
The majority of fans see Lampard for what he is, a temporary caretaker and nothing more soon to be replaced by whoever wants a highly rewarded nightmare of a challenge.

This is true, anyway back on topic, Everton look dead in the water to me when looking at their remaining fixtures, next up its Leicester on Monday, what a massive game that is, should Leicester win I can see them maybe surviving, I think it could be Southampton, Everton and Leeds/Forest for the drop.

I think that’s how the bookies see it too Mike although Leicester really do need to win that game v Everton especially with games to come still against Newcastle United and Liverpool.
My interest in this only came about by winding my nephew up that we’d be playing Leicester next season in a league fixture and it’s just grown since then. At the start it was nothing more than speculation that just grew into probability.
If I lose a tenner I’m more than happy to donate it to the hospice in Ipswich.

I would happily take Everton going down.Bluemike wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 5:33 amThis is true, anyway back on topic, Everton look dead in the water to me when looking at their remaining fixtures, next up its Leicester on Monday, what a massive game that is, should Leicester win I can see them maybe surviving, I think it could be Southampton, Everton and Leeds/Forest for the drop.

Forest winning at half time at Brentford. If they could take 3 points back to Nottingham today it would go a long way towards survival.

Re: Ipswich / Leicester to both be in Championship next season.
Suddenly this thread has heightened interest!
Southampton, Everton and Forest are my tips for the drop. All three would make very interesting games next year.
So so much better than Accrington, Forest Green, Cheltenham, to name but three... no disrespect but they are simply not our level.
In fact a glance at the Championship table shows a decent selection of teams with good-sized grounds, history and support. Only Hull and Rotherham maybe are not regulars at that level and above.
I'm back in UK next year and from my home on the south coast can potentially make away days at Southampton, Millwall, Watford, Luton (if they don't go up), QPR and Reading (if they don't go down)
It's good to be back!

On reflection, comment above is a bit unfair on Hull City. As an older fan my head my be in the last century

Just had a glance at Evertons remaining fixtures. They look a tad goosed. Could their top flight record be broken?
Massive game at Filbert Street tomorrow night.
(My head in last century with everything , Johhny!)

Re: Ipswich / Leicester to both be in Championship next season.
The most memorable game I watched at Filbert Street was Town v Leeds United playing an FA Cup QF 3rd replay on a Thursday Night which Town won 3-2 having drawn the second replay at the same venue 0-0 two days earlier. It was also the night 17yr old John Wark made his senior debut for Town and played exceptionally well. Towns goal scorers were Bryan Hamilton, Trevor Whymark and Clive Woods.

Leicester now 4-0 down at Fulham with 40 mins still to play.
Definitely not looking good for them.
