Team news;
Town: Hladky, Clarke, Woolfenden, Edmundson, Davis, Travis, Taylor, Burns, Chaplin (C), Broadhead, Jackson.
Subs: Walton, Tuanzebe, Ball, Humphreys, Harness, Hutchinson, Sarmiento, Aluko, Ladapo.
It seems Luongo picked up an 'innocuous ankle injury' in training on Thursday. . Reading between the lines I'm not sure KM was planning to start Travis after such little training time with his new team mates! I'm a bit concerned about that midfield but guess it's a case of needs must!!

Oh yes, I didn't pick up on that. A well deserved recognition, now use that to score the winner Connor!JohnnyB wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 6:03 pmNice to see Connor getting the armband. COYBs!AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 6:00 pmTeam news;

Harry Clarke’s a lucky boy, his mistake could so easily was if not for Hladky blocking Bellingham’s goal bound shot.
A shame Jackson wasn’t up with play to have rubbed it in.

It’s taken 15 minutes but we’re starting to get on top.
… but as we all know that counts for nothing until the ball hits the back of the net.

Wow, what a goal to go behind too. Not a bloody defender in sight.
Now it’s going to be difficult

We need to score quickly or they’ll shut up shop.

Don't have much faith in Jackson but there's players out and he's got a goal so guess we'll let it rest. Imagine we've gone with the same formation as always, its not for everyone but just want to win and bring in three overdue points. Nearest challengers got victories therefore its imperative the team wins.
We really should be taking advantage of this home opportunity against such opponents. Even with pivotal names out believe we have enough over course of ninety minutes to take victory from it.

Re: Championship - Ipswich Town vs Sunderland AFC Preview & Matchday Thread
Played well in patches, for me Broadhead has offered absolutely nothing all that half, totally anonymous, fair play to Jackson though, he's played well, getting into good positions, working the defenders and could have had a hat-trick on another day. For me Burns has been our biggest threat, he has the beating of the full back and has put several good balls in the box.
Travis has done one or two good things and will take time to settle but Taylor is poor. Defence been okish apart from Clarke getting caught out early doors but Clarke came so close to scoring too and was unlucky. This game is there to be won, we just need to tighten up at the back.

Re: Championship - Ipswich Town vs Sunderland AFC Preview & Matchday Thread
Not a bad 45 mins although we took a long time to settle. Plenty of chances but we have too many players a yard or so behind play. Edmundson frustrates me how many times he gifts the ball away to concede possession and having looked at their goal again at half time Hladky could definitely have done better given his clear view of Clarkes shot. Pleased with Jackson’s goal which was very well taken and he’s looked surprisingly lively.

Get Taylor off for God's sake. He's a liability.

Foul count 13-1 Ipswich? Wow....., that is very unlike an ex Sevco manager.

How on earth did Hladky get away with that. He’s looking a tad suspect playing out from the back tonight, very sloppy.

I’m surprised Broadhead wasn’t subbed, he must have had the fewest touches he’s ever had in a game recently.
