Introduction of the new Blue card
Introducing the blue card to a player which puts them in the sin bin for 10 minutes, is to save straight reds, It can be shown for decent fouls that prevent a promising attack, 2 blues is a red or 1 yellow 1 blue is red, this should stop shirt pulling, pushing in the back cynical fouls etc, I bet they will be handed out for diving which is all too prevalent in the game.
I'm just worried that Sam Morsy will get a few, so he has to clean his game up as we can't afford to lose our mainstay captain, refs will also need to observe cynical deliberate attempts to get players sent off by playing theatrical rolling around as though they've been shot, the game does need to be cleaned up

Re: Introduction of the new Blue card
I feel the “ sin bin” is long over due in football. They’ve had it in rugby I believe, for years. If s team had to go down to 10 men for cynical fouls ( dare I add time wasting to that as well), the cynical side to the game might get cleaned up a bit.

Oh dear, another infraction we can question the refs for…

My gut is something like this would be a bad idea and another complication, but I haven't fully thought through all the implications I guess.

Could be, but in this modern world of equality, I've always wanted a universal system, so those who can't afford yellow and red card can play too.
It's simple, you show a middle finger for a yellow card and your index and middle finger for a red card.

They are determined to ruin the game and they are doing a fine job lately.

Next, the club Managers issue the Referees and assistants cards on overall performance, and if they are terrible a straight red with replacement officials on the officials bench. just how far can this system go??? the mind boggles

Re: Introduction of the new Blue card
A silly move as far as I'm concerned. The sin bin doesn't help the game as a spectacle and I predict will lead to more injuries and pulled muscles as players having been in the sin bin for 10 minutes and cooled down, have to return to the game and play at 100% again.
Refs just have to be more consistent with their yellow cards.

Re: Introduction of the new Blue card
So I'm reading if a keeper gets a Blue card you have the option of putting an outfield player in goal until the 10 minute penalty is over, or making a permanent substitution with a second keeper, I just find it all ridiculous.
I'm sure soon we'll have a different colour card for each bloody offence. You can just imagine it, end of the game in the dressing room and Mckenna says to Morsy...
"Jesus what cards did you get today" ?
Morsy stands up and starts singing.......
" Green and Yellow and Pink and Blue, Purple and Orange and Red"
Totally ridiculous, leave the bloody game alone!!!

It would no doubt satisfy the 'Inclusion and Diversity' team though Mike?Bluemike wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 3:26 pmSo I'm reading if a keeper gets a Blue card you have the option of putting an outfield player in goal until the 10 minute penalty is upon making a permanent substitution with a second keeper, I just find it all ridiculous.
