3-2 ⚽️

This is unbelievable;

Another goal from a sub.. in fact that another 2 from subs ⚽️⚽️, and ....

Another goal in added time..,

Another win from a losing position…

A proper game of football. A never say die attitude. A late late winner. Top of the table. Happy days.

That was a fantastic game. The best I've seen for some time.

I thought Southampton looked excellent and well in control.

But two moments of brilliance from the bench won it for us - you just can't write this team off.

felt compeled to take in a view of the Pink Un forum. They're not entirely pleased with that score and result.

Don't know quite how we did it, turned it around from a losing position to win it. Maybe the player dismissed for them late on had a severe psychological effect or they just couldn't hold out or lost belief in themelves.

That was real frantic towards the end, must have been murder for the fans there but when the dust settles we'll look back on an entertaining contest with two club names trying hard to make it in to a higher league. Not sure what exact crowd we had for this but they surely would have played their part in getting this eventual victory. Norwich lose, we win, can take this into next weekend and just about exclude them from a promotion opportunity. Only need Leeds to drop points in a short time, they failed before and can again.

Oh mate, I remember the scenes after the late Rotherham winner, but the pressure and what this game meant must've ramped things up several notches when Sarmiento scored.

So, looking at the table, is this a 3 horse race now for an automatic spot?

I'd say yes and wouldn't want to meet Southampton in the playoffs

This team just never gives up even when not playing well, Well done KMck with the subs AGAIN. Referee was f**king useless today. Can't believe this was his first championship game 😳 who makes that decision 🤷‍♂️

That was incredible. Saints were very good. Ref was awful (again) but this team are something else. At 1-2 I said that if McKenna can turn this around, he is a genius - well guess what?!!! Scenes at the end were unbelievable. In 55 years of supporting Town, I can't remember enjoying my football this much - I LOVE this team! Anything is now possible but with this group of players and management team, the sky is indeed the limit. No voice, exhausted but so bloody happy! COYB's!!!!

He is a Premiership referee 😁

Fantastic Easter period. Got a decent run in. Game at a time but Town have spirit and belief that might just get automatic spot. Down to 3 now for top spot

Only problem with that is, will Southampton be able to play like that against Leicester and Leeds with little but pride at stake. Their place in the play offs is pretty much guaranteed and they won’t want to risk players in the run up to the play off.

Again Kieran McKenna sums up today’s performance perfectly

"I feel really proud of the effort everyone put in there. You have to enjoy moments like that. What a game to be a part of.

"There were so many good things in the performance and so much to improve. It was a real step up for us in quality to play a team like that.

"All of the subs had a great impact and it's the sign of our culture. All of our players and staff are joyous in the dressing room. We have to enjoy it."

What a season McKenna is having as a first appointment Manager, the guy’s an absolute genius.

I've been going to Football since I was 15 Years old and I've never seen the Ground erupt like it did when we scored our 3rd. People dancing, singing, hugging and limbs flying everywhere.

Amazing result. Completely outplayed first half; we couldn’t get the ball and when we did we gave it away time after time. Southampton cut us open for both goals. At that stage I feared a heavy defeat.
We played a bit better second half but importantly we showed fight and desire; it was that rather than quality football that got us over the line. A much needed three points.
Ref was a nightmare. Some terrible decisions including the foul on Morsy he ignored in the first half.
Am I alone in thinking the red card for Bree was a bit harsh? From where I was I didn’t think he was the last defender.
A poor performance Friday, outplayed for at least 45 minutes tonight but 6 so valuable points.

As I said on Friday Andy, at this time of the season it’s all about points not performances. Southampton found to their cost both today and on Friday when they were equally as good as today but dropped 2 points conceding a late 90th minute goal to Middlesbrough.

Having watched every game played by the top 4 teams over the weekend Southampton have by far played the best football over 2 games and have 1 point to show for it. Town and Leeds have played less well over 180+ minutes and have 6 points each to show for it. We all know which camp we’d prefer to be in.

Four days rest and back to work on Saturday at Norwich where again we probably have the toughest match of the Tol 3 clubs, although Leeds might not think so travelling away to Coventry City who will also still have an eye on one of the Play Off places.

Very true. 3 points on Saturday could help to open up a gap. Leeds didn’t look great second half tonight. I guess the pressure is getting to us all.

Not good to read.....
Just back from the game - what is it with these Premiership refs officiating in the Championship?? ... thats 2 with had had in the last few games & they have both seen absolutely sh*te!!

Have to say our fans were top hotch during the game BUT the some of the drunken 'yoof' c*unts after the game were an absolute disgrace!! Witnessed one headbutt an innocent Ipswich fan just outside the ground whilst another 'fan' punched another in the face - police quickly arrested the second luckily. Their fans before & after game, the stewards, the police were a great bunch - despite the awful result, they did not deserve our bellends wading into blameless supporters!

Gosh that was insane, outplayed / out classed for a lot of the game - as you’d expect from an expensive side who are well set up to be fair.

The scenes at the end were immense, can’t imagine what it would have been like being there.
Still feels a long way to go but six points from this weekend is massive.
