"In Laymons Terms" ...... A 700 page tribute book to the late, great horror writer, Richard Laymon. Halfway through and it's the most enjoyable read for a few years.

Last thing I read was Jim Greaves autobiography. One of my all-time favorite players and goalscorer supreme. A real page turner that was hard to put down. Didn't win the honors he so greatly deserved.

Will check out this Adam Nevill author, Frosty. Does he write about the paranormal / supernatural? That's my thing. LOVE getting scared out of my wits by Ghosts then having to check cupboards before putting the light out.

Check out his book 'last days' .... That is one of his best although all are good.
I am a horror aficionado as you know and he paints quite a scary picture in your head as normally most horror authors spoon feed you
The 'ritual' and apartment 16 are brilliant as well

Re: what are you reading
The Magic Cottage is absolutely superb.
I read a Masterton book called Family Portrait......, was a bit too sick for me.
When I say "sick", I mean a bit disgusting. I think the word "sick" can mean awesome these days. I overheard my own son saying to his mate regarding his mates new bumper on his car.... "Aw sick, love it"
I've started using it too. My son asked what was for dinner. I replied, "You'll love it. It's sick."

A brief guide to James Bond by Nigel Cawthorne
"Ian Fleming described his fictional hero as 'a pillow fantasy of an adolescent mind'. Bond was the embodiment of suave, hedonistic wish-fulfilment in gray post-war austerity Britain, but he has since captured the imaginations of future generations in every part of the world. The Bond films are Hollywoods all-time highest-grossing franchise. The books sold over forty million copies during Flemings lifetime and are still in print. This encyclopedic guide casts fascinating new light on Bond and his creator"

Re: what are you reading
Has anyone read a book, or been in the process of reading a book, and thought, "How the f*ck is this sick b*stard author not in jail?"
Read the short story, "The Library policeman" by Stephen King few months ago and thought, "My God, if I wrote that sh*t, my wife would divorce me and have me locked up."
Some real sick bstds out there.

Re: what are you reading
Oh yes, he's definitely tame (I actually can't be bothered with his wind & pish) ........, but my point is this; things that are sick that are so far removed from a high percentage of most peoples normal everyday life are ok, ie, blood and gore, witchcraft, etc etc. But King graphically deals with "rape" in that story. The detail is bordering disturbing. Point being; imagine writing something like that. My family would be saying, "Holy sh*t, Marko is a sick bstd is he not!"

Re: what are you reading
Sexy sluts with loads of gobblin? Yeah, I'd probably buy that too.
Incidentally, that "Library Policeman" story is in Kings "Four past Midnight" book......., 4 stories.
The second story in that book is well worth the read, called "Secret Window, Secret Garden".., which was made into a film, with Johnny Depp starring as main character, Mort Rainey. They dropped the "secret garden" part of the title for the movie. Definitely worth the time watching it IMO.
