Congratulations Wolves
I know my good friend Ben will be looking down on this with a great big smile on his face that his beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers are back in the big time. I wish them well and no doubt it tastes all the sweetewr as it looks like they may pass WBA on the way down.
Lets hope for better times ahead for us and the rihgt appointment is critical for us to move on and compete. For the record I think Mick was treated very badly by a small section of our fans ,not on in my book.

Re: Congratulations Wolves
Yes congratulations Wolves, let's just hope that the Premier League don't refuse to accept the promotion because of the issues relating to that Agent, was it Mendez? There was some press during the week that the club is breaching Prem rules on that and that they might not allow them to be promoted.......

What’s this about, Dubai? How can they be breaching EPL rules when they’re not in the Prem until 18/19?

Here’s a link to one of the many reports on the subject Marko;
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/20 ... reporting/
Leicester City were subject to the same criticism but simply paid a fine as best I recall. It just makes a nonsense of FFP Rules and allows he who spends most and gets promotion get away with it.

Re: Congratulations Wolves
Following promotion from League One at the end of 2013/14 under the management of Kenny Jacket, Wolves quickly moved through managers Walter Zenga and Paul Lambert whose combined time in post was no more than 10mths with both resposible for periods of indifferent results.
Although relieved of his duties at Porto 9 days earlier, the appointment of Nuno Espírito Santo was indeed an inspired choice with his 5yrs successful management experience in Portugal and Spain under his belt.
Maybe a lesson learned for the Town Board who could do worse than look beyond our waters for McCarthy’s replacement.

“So, Mr Mendes..... your thoughts on this issue?”
“Hang on the now, mate..... I’m texting.”
Could be up Shyte street a little bit here. How will they get out of this one? Hopefully their accountant is busy doctoring some numbers.

It’s so annoying when those who break the rules get away with it.

Depends who it is. When it’s The Sevco Rangers & the Jambofuckers that get shafted, ....... that’s always a great day.

He's fine thanks, I think he is just keeping out of any confrontations which has nothing to do with the wolf pack.marko69 wrote:How’s yer dad getting on, Monkeyboyyy? All good and well I hope.

Re: Congratulations Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers played a pivotal part in the beginnings of the European Cup (now in existence since 1955)
Story is, back then the French sports publication L'Equipe took issue with Wolverhampton's claims that they were quote "The cream of Europe", having beaten Hungary's star-studded Honved team and wished to test that theory.
L'Equipe invited then representatives of twenty leading clubs to Paris which FIFA provided support, and the newly formed UEFA took over the tournaments administration from 1955-56.
England was an absentee from the first contest : The Football League refused to let Chelsea join in although Hibernian representing Scotland, reached the semi-finals. Real Madrid lifted the inaugural trophy, the first of five successive wins by that club.

Re: Congratulations Wolves
Yep, great pub quiz question that one, Saint. Who was the first British Club to play in Europe; Hibs. And only Hibs fans get that question right!
Jay, (and John) ..... With Mick away from the club now, I think the coast is clear to come back with your superb midlands humour. You held him in high regard and had great respect for him and that didn't sit too well with a few on this forum........ but that's all in the past now, whether for good or bad, we'll never know.
Come back and join in with the VAR confrontations!

Welcome to the forum GandB.
There is an awesome dude on this forum going by the name Goldandblack, or Wolfie for short. I do miss him. His humour was second to none.
Now will you be a really crap wolf or a funny, likeable wolf?

Yeah, you'll like the other Wolf, dude. His avatar won the avatar of the year award at last years awards. Won't tell you what it was in case you nick it!
So where are the wolves really going to finish next season? Higher than 20th?

Well i believe as the bookies do we are looking at 7th but that might be a bit optimistic. if any of the rumoured new signings are coming then i really think the Wolves are going places, i think last seasons team would be mid table.marko69 wrote:Yeah, you'll like the other Wolf, dude.
