Agreed. So dominant and then we take the lead and it’s like we say say “It’s over to you”. Don’t get it. You can see the confidence drain out of the players and just give it to the opposition. Must be a mental thing.Steve and Jo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 3:40 pmHave no idea, This just goes on and on. I bet its every game we have taken the lead its totally unprofessional. Something they has a team got to sort out and QUICK

What a compliment from Mick Mills comparing Macauley Bonne with Paul Mariner, that really is saying something about him.

Looks like a win but im not convinced especially against Shrewsbury, no offence meant but we should be hammering these.

Yep 3 points in the bag. Sounds like a couple of good goals too. I'll sleep easy tonight.

We’ll all gladly take the win. Most of the game we looked very secure but annoyingly gave them that spell in the last bit of the first half. Still things are improving. Bonne and Doncian are class acts, Edwards’ turn and drag back to leave two defenders standing was a real treat.

I thought Donacien and Chaplin were our Two best players. I feel Fraser is a massive lazy letdown and Evans hides too much.

I think the gap between the two sides was massive and the result not reflective of our dominance. If we can only win by one goal against such a poor side it suggests we’re going to struggle when we meet sides of equal ability. We need to find a way to thrash sides like Shrewsbury who were only marginally better than Doncaster. I think Shrewsbury were also very lucky not to concede at least one penalty, the foul from behind on Edward’s was a stone wall pen.

I used to agree with that many years ago with Hibernian. Relegated and v Alloa, Stranraer, piece of cake and usually do what ipswich admirably did today; have 73% possession.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 5:52 pmI think the gap between the two sides was massive and the result not reflective of our dominance. But …… not so.
Probably find THIS quality Ipswich side will fair better v Wigan, Pompey and other “top” () teams.
Accepting Donny were just worse than sh*t, the shrews and Burtons etc are just stubborn bus parkers.
Need back to the Championship as soon as feckin possible.

Only one loss in the last 5, 10 points out of a possible 15, doesn't sound too bad, but feels worse than that!
10 points out of a possible 15 is form enough to finish the season with 69 points, which is what we ended up with last season...

We Missed Celina in Midfield today, he's a class act when it comes to those pinpoint Lazer sharp defense splitting passes, don't you dare get injured playing for Kosovo in the World Cup qualifiers Bersant.
In the next cup game, I would like to see PC introduce 20-year-old Tete Yengi up top at 6ft 5" alongside Macaulay Bonne laying off high balls to Mac's feet, it's just an experiment, but I have this gut feeling he could just be another Daryl Murphy ??? you won't know until you try these experiments out.

Great to get another win but it sounds like it should have been far more comfortable than it was. We really need to start making the dominance count, at 1-0 it always feels edgy although at least their goal wasn't down to sloppy play on this occasion.
I wonder if when we come up against some of the stronger teams whether we might actually find it a little easier to create chances, i guess we'll find out in 10 days time!

I’m currently down in Plymouth this weekend with my friend watching her sons passing out parade for the Navy. It’s almost tropical down here atm - lovely weather and area if I’m honest ( never been here before)…. Pilgrims were home today and won …. We are staying in a house ( AirBnB literally the other side of Home parkland where their stadium is … I know where to stay if I come down to watch Town play them . Semi detached house with( beds (£60 a night) cheap as chips if you have a group of you
Thrilled with Town win …. Let’s just get a winning streak going eh !

Portsmouth, Plymouth and Wycombe all away in the next 5 games.
Should give a good indication of where this team is going.
Shrewsbury at home should be a given for a team looking to get to play-offs minimum
