Just checked the score and thought there was something wrong with my iPad!
Well done the lads and PC. More than happy to see you stuff my recent comments about you back down my throat. Now build on this.

Maybe this will be the start of that winning run I keep predicting.

Have a feeling you may be spot on with that, Hallamski.

And GREAT to see the Chair scoring for QPR tonight.
Hopefully the Table and maybe some Stools can start scoring as well.

See Forest result? 90+1 & 90+2 goals to win 2-1.
I imagine many red plastic Bristol City seats being broken tonight.

I think Chaplin in the No.10 position with Bonne up front are now nailed on. It is good to have so many wide options, as second guessing for an opposing manager must be hell when Aluko, Burns, Edwards, Celina all bring such differing qualities to the side. Thought Aluko looked more dangerous down the left when he switched, not that he did a bad job on the right. That is without adding Fraser to the equation.

For all the first half was scrappy we really bossed the second half and all this in what many thought was our trickiest game of the month.

I will add, that I think Pompey players could possibly have played with more freedom if their SHORTS ( ha ha ) hadn’t been so tight !!! Who the hell designed them I don’t know, but they didn’t look comfortable ! Nowhere near enough , well, ball room !!

Re: League 1 - Portsmouth FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
why the hell can't the team replicate a performance like that more often. This must be a bigger result than the Doncaster game and we scored two less goals with it. Can't find what line-up was used by Cook but whatever was put out worked. Best relief is we now got a team that can score goals, not always so easy to stop them other end but with enough firepower at the teams disposal a promotion chance is a real possibility.
didn't think we'd get anything from the trip but the team surprised many with a standout victory. Not going to comment on TWTD "at the weekend it was Armageddon, can't beat Cambridge, Cook out etc etc, oh the team's won, everything's fine and dandy, retract every negative thing said etc etc", f*ck that sh*t.
to encapsulate today that was the kind of score, perhaps performance, that can liberate a season. Not entirely sure how ineffective Portsmouth were but prefer to focus on our own merits. Shame again scores like that don't happen more frequent with us but you can clearly see an opportunity ahead.
Bristol City somehow lost a game in additional time while a goal ahead also ? Guess any and all Ashton ridicule must have been mighty muted over there by end of game. All said, a resounding win, something to take pride in amid a cluster of other (recent) indifferent performance and scores.

Very sweet to wake up to this news! Who knows what’s possible now?
One thing with this squad. You mess up, you don’t get a second chance, you’re out on your arse. I think we’d all love Toto to keep his place but I reckon Hladky will be back. Behind MacBon, competition is fierce!
Happy days

Excellent result and performance apparently and very damaging for what should be a competitive Pompey side.
The wins column is starting to fill up now. 1 defeat in last 5 with 3 wins is much better.
Tails should be up for Fleetwood and the big one against Plymouth.

Aluko deserves to keep his place, but I think Burns is unfortunate to lose out.
I’d maybe drop Edwards and push Aluko over to the left to bring Burns in.
Have to say, Edwards has lots of tricks but very little end product.
Chaplin looks our best number 10 so far and looks to have nailed down that spot.
Celina looking more and more like we don’t need him. Much rather have someone like Aluko, Burns and Chaplin working harder putting in shifts and actually getting goals.

Absolutely spot on, Chaplin is vital and Burns been superb, Aluko has earned his place, we don't need Celina and never did.tangfastic wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 8:55 amAluko deserves to keep his place, but I think Burns is unfortunate to lose out.

To be fair we probably don’t need three or four of the following EIGHT attacking midfielders vying for the front three behind Bonne: Burns, Chaplin, Fraser, Celina, Harper, Edwards, Aluko and Barry. It’s hilarious-it’s like Cook collects them or somethingBluemike wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 10:15 amAbsolutely spot on, Chaplin is vital and Burns been superb, Aluko has earned his place, we don't need Celina and never did.tangfastic wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 8:55 amAluko deserves to keep his place, but I think Burns is unfortunate to lose out.

There’s been a lot of talk of Barry cutting his loan short here. I just wonder if we do the same in January with Celina. Unless he’s a regular in the eleven would he still want to be here? He didn’t come here to be on the bench in a L1 team. Probably get a loan in the Championship easily enough.JohnnyB wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 12:01 pmTo be fair we probably don’t need three or four of the following EIGHT attacking midfielders vying for the front three behind Bonne: Burns, Chaplin, Fraser, Celina, Harper, Edwards, Aluko and Barry. Could be a lot more coming and going in the Jan transfer window (probably more going out than incoming). Think I’d prefer we offload some attacking players to create space to bring in an experienced CB and a CM.

Nah, we'll start getting injuries at some point. And losses of form.
Nothing to complain about here as long as the players stay sharp and wait for their chance...

It’s a shame with Barry, because I think he might be a major talent in the future but he’s not likely to get much of a look in here, and will probably move on. But what can you do? He’s got at least five ‘support strikers’ or attacking midfielders ahead of him in the queuetangfastic wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 1:11 pmThere’s been a lot of talk of Barry cutting his loan short here. I got some stick for saying Celina didn't look ready and is lightweight at this level. He has quality, yes but I am just not convinced by him and he never looks happy. I hope to be proved wrong but feel he is wrong for what we are today - going back rarely works out. It was so much fun last night. I just hope we can keep it going cos we have waited a very long time to sing the songs we were when we went 3 and then 4 up! I particularly loved 'lets pretend you scored a goal' followed by a build up and then cheering - priceless to be a part of
