Re: League 1 - Ipswich Town vs Fleetwood Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Anyway, what ever happened to Joey Barton ?... until I read the Preview I thought he was still in charge at Fleetwood. I’m guessing he must have been sacked for one of his numerous misdemeanours like beating up his wife.

Unchanged team.
Just Pigott coming in for Barry on the bench.
Bit rough on Burns, but good problem to have and Aluko deserves to keep his place.

If we can win today with those up the road losing 7-0 it would be my perfect day.

I’d always have Burns in my starting line up but as you say would be hard on Aluko if it meant him dropping to the bench. It certainly looks like PC is beginning to know his preferred starting line up.

Cook must have lot of confidence in Bonne to start him every game for a loan attack. Maybe the player's better than what we already got.
anyone that can view or listen to action count yourself fortunate, can't get a damn thing other than text updates. Early in and without score but no sense in rushing things. Victory should arrive it's just a matter of patience and realizing we're a better team than the opposition.

Not playing very well today, other news McCarthy sacked by Cardiff no surprise.

Cardiff really had to win today and failed and in the other early game Norwich were well and truly thrashed 7-0 by Chelsea, even worse they were shocking.

I don’t think we’re playing much different to the first half at Pompey, the only difference is Fleetwood are much better organised than Portsmouth. Just a shame Bonne misguided his header from 6 yards with only the keeper to beat.Kerry Blue wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 3:40 pmNot playing very well today, other news McCarthy sacked by Cardiff no surprise.

Re: League 1 - Ipswich Town vs Fleetwood Town Preview & Matchday Thread
thought they'd allow him more time, did rather well when first coming in but once agan, not our issue no more.
it's near half-time and there's still no score, I'm not overly worried. If the opposition were ahead it would be a cause for concern but there's ample time to make an impression.
Cook should change formation at the break, never in favor of playing one up front so move Chaplin or Aluko forward to partner Bonne and introduce Burns, Pigott or Celina to feature second half.

So much for my 3-2 prediction, it looks like one goal could win this.

Edwards is poor again he's not taking anyone on I would put Celina on the left we definitely need to up our game.

Maybe not playing that badly, but maybe Fleetwood are a far better team than we expected. Look decent.
Edwards, for me, is an enigma. Loads of talent, but no end result.
We’re seeing the downside of Donacien at RB. Plenty of the ball in good positions, but he’s not an attacking FB.
I don’t see this so far as a bad game where we’re playing poorly, but Fleetwood are really playing well. Pretty competitive game.

Re: League 1 - Ipswich Town vs Fleetwood Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Watching on ifollow for first time in a while. So far, there's only been a few buffering pauses. All in all, impressed with coverage especially since I'm in greater Atlanta, GA.
First half:
Fleetwood the better passing team, howver we look more dangerous on the counter attack.
Edmundson looks shaky in the back.
Aluko has been our best player.
Bonne should have scored with the header.
Pretty even half, but we need to take control of the midfield and limit Fleetwood's passing and movement.

Re: League 1 - Ipswich Town vs Fleetwood Town Preview & Matchday Thread
We really could do with a second goal, a clean sheet against Fleetwood is a big call given their 10 goals in their last 4 away games. It’s not impossible but I’ll feel a lot more comfortable if we can make it two.
We do look good going forward, but less good when they’re running at us.

How can the Cookie haters not see how much better we are now than playing under recent Town managers, or have I got it wrong.

kind of imagined a goal would come our way although you can never discount your opponents. Didn't think Chaplin would be first scorer, maybe I depend too much on other players but it's lead that's all important. Always prevalent we let leads slip, one goal is too fine a margin but quietly confident we can see this one out and add further three points to an improving season.

Don’t Town fans sing at Portman Road anymore ?... it used to be such a noisy vocal crowd in the good old days.

So disappointed to concede that goal, defence rooted and Donacian completely caught flat footed. Game far from over.
